Law 35/2015 (entry into force of the law January 1, 2016)

UNESPA has developed, in collaboration with TIREA, an application to calculate the corresponding compensation to the victims of traffic accidents under the personal injury assessment system for traffic accidents established by Law 35/2015.

The project has been reviewed by an independent advisory committee. This committee was composed of an academic expert in civil liability, the representative of victim associations, as well as interlocutors of the Insurance Compensation Consortium, insurance entities, TIREA and UNESPA. The objective of this advisory committee has been to validate the new tool from the functional and calculation points of view, as well as to advise the project team on the correct application and interpretation of the new normative text.

The application meets the main objectives of simplicity in its use and robustness in the calculation. The fulfillment of these principles allows to have an objective and universal system for calculating compensation for traffic accidents that have occurred since January 1, 2016, the date of entry into force of the Law.
